Recruitment Policy

Please note that any member of the public may apply to become a GM recruit.

When applying to join GM, all three of the following must be met:

  • 1. Dedication

You must show your support of GM by wearing the |GM| tag for at least one week.

You must show your dedication to GM by visiting our community forum daily, and contributing to it (by posting) regularly.

You must play for at least 10 hours on our servers (includes our non-TF2 servers).

  • 2. Skill

You must meet at least 2 of these basic skill requirements:

    • A K/D Ratio according to our TF2 HLStatsX of at least 1.0 (we may make allowances for medics).
    • Have a working microphone configured for use with TF2 and Ventrilo, and be able to communicate in-game clearly.
    • At least 10 hours played as any one class, according to your Steam account.
  • 3. Leader Acceptance

A GM Leader or Deputy Leader will evaluate your application and decide on its acceptance.

After you are accepted as a GM recruit:

You will wear the [GM-R] tag for one week. During that week, you must maintain the same level of dedication and skill that was required when you applied. At the end of the week there will be a clan-wide vote (open for 3 days) to decide whether or not to grant you full GM membership.

Membership Removal

Any GM member who is inactive — i.e. does not log onto the forum or the servers — for one month will be removed from the clan. Depending on the circumstances causing the inactivity, the former member may be reinstated at a later date upon request.

Also, please note that the leaders have imposed a strict limit of 100 members to be in the clan at any one time. We will conduct applications on a first-come, first-serve basis; i.e. the first successful applicants will be the ones that get to join GM.

Match Team Recruitment Policy

  • GM match teams are allowed to recruit players ("ringers") from outside GM to play for their team while participating in highly competitive leagues such as ETF2L.org, etc.
  • "Ringers" shall not have access to the private clan-only forums - only their respective team forum.
  • In most circumstances, a "ringer" is regarded as a GM Community member and not a full GM clan member.
  • If a "ringer" wishes to become a full GM member, they must go through the normal recruitment process, although they can skip the "wear the |GM| tag for one week" requirement.

Warnings System

To help promote a friendly and fun atmosphere in GM we have decided to implement a warning system.

  • If a leader or deputy witnesses foul behaviour on the servers or forum towards a fellow GM clan member or another person you will be given a warning.
  • Each star denotes 1 warning.
  • 1 warning is automatically removed at the start of every month if good behaviour has been maintained.
  • 5 warnings and you will be kicked out of the clan. Whether this is permanent or temporary is dependent on a leader's judgement and will be discussed beforehand.
