I. Gaming Masters Core Values

First and foremost, the Gaming Masters (GM) Clan is dedicated to excellence in all aspects of TF2 gameplay. The purpose of GM is to build high-quality fighting teams that can win the day in competition with other TF2 clans. It strives at all times to set the highest possible standard of ethics, honor and professionalism. Service to the clan, the GM community, and to one another is what binds GM together and is a highly revered ideal of everyone who calls themselves a Gaming Master.

II. Democratic Heirarchy System

A "democratic hierarchy system" is one in which members are afforded levels of access to clan servers and given specific rights, privileges, and duties depending upon and according to rank within the clan. A member's rank does not grant or afford authority over lower ranking clan members. Rather, all clan members are considered equal, but privileges of clan membership, as well as clan responsibilities, are determined by a member's ranking within the democratic hierarchy system.

  • Leader

The highest rank attainable. No more than three clan members are Leaders at any given time. Leaders are appointed by existing leaders. Leaders' duties include overall administration of the servers and oversight of the clan website.

  • Deputy Leader

No more than five clan members are DLs at any given time. DLs are appointed by vote between existing leaders and DLs. DL duties include recruiting, server administrator/GM membership application approval/disapproval, clan match scheduling, and other duties as assigned by leaders.

  • Server Administrator

Server adminstrators are expected to keep our servers running smoothly, regardless of what game they are running. SAs are selected by the quality of their administration as an LSA and are chosen by existing SAs, DLs and the leaders. SAs must never abuse the powerful tools we give them the privilege of using, such as noclip, slay and timebomb. Doing so could mean suspension from the clan, or worse.

  • Limited Server Administrator

Limited server administrators are, like SAs, expected to keep our servers running smoothly by warning, kicking or banning cheaters, hackers and exploiters as they see fit. Any abuse of the tools we provide them will result in termination of their administrator status and possible suspension or banishment from the clan.

  • Clan Member

Members are expected to make a good faith effort to regularly play on clan servers, improve their rank on HLStatsX, and participate in clan competitions when requested to. Further, members are expected to regularly visit the clan website and keep up with clan related news and forum posts. It should be the goal of each member to eventually be promoted to one of the three match teams: E, F and Z. Promotion from Clan Recruit to Clan Member is determined by a Leader or DL only after at least a two-week period.

  • Clan Recruit

Those who wish to join GM must regularly play on clan servers and attain a respectable HLStatsX rank. To become a recruit, a player should approach a GM member who will observe his or her gameplay and invite the player to post an application. If we are actively recruiting for the clan, the application will be reviewed after several weeks of observation. The current status of recruitment can be viewed on the details page for membership within the "Join Us" link on the bar to the left. In order to be promoted to Clan Member, each recruit should fulfill the requirements of membership such as improving their skills and participating in the clan community.

III. Code of Conduct

Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally, honorably and respectfully at all times. All members are expected to maintain good and honorable behaviour while wearing the [GM] tag.

Cheating is unacceptable behaviour and is punishable by demotion, dismissal, or permanent banishment from the clan. We hate cheaters and have extensive knowledge of the cheats/hacks/exploits that are being used. We take the time to test the cheats/hacks/exploits to train our Admins.

Except on private clan servers being used solely by clan members (i.e., not being visited by members of other clans or members of the public), no exploits or scripts such as noclip/burn/explode/etc. shall be used at any time. Commands that radically alter the gameplay are for testing and training purposes only.

Any member who knowingly gives confidential or sensitive information (like our teamspeak IP, port, and/or passwords) will be considered a spy against our clan. This will result in the immediate removal from Teamspeak and the servers until the Leaders and DLs vote on the situation. If found guilty, the member shall be permanently removed from the clan.

Inappropriate decal "sprays" or IDs in-game are punishable at an Admin's discretion.
